Lamp shades at
V&H Styling in Bunschoten

Lamp tinting is a popular technique for improving the appearance of your car’s lights. This technique uses special film to give the lamps a darker appearance.

We use XPEL’s self-healing film, which repairs itself from minor scratches and damage. This ensures that the film always looks like new and lasts longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

The time we spend tinting your lamps depends on the number of lamps you want tinted. We take the time to thoroughly clean your lamps and ensure perfect installation. This takes an average of 1 to 2 hours.

We work exclusively with materials from XPEL. This company is known worldwide as the best film suppliers. You also get a 10-year warranty after the installation of the film. The tools we use come from 3M.

The cost depends on the number of lamps we need to tint. Above you can find the prices. We work with fixed prices for tinting your lamps, so you don’t have to request a quote, or face unexpected costs.

If you have your car washed at a car wash, we recommend choosing a car wash that does not have brushes, but cloths. Make sure that if you wash with a pressure washer, that you do not keep it within 25 cm of the lamp, and do not aim it at the nooks and crannies around the lights.

Lamp tinting is not illegal, but it can pose a problem during a MOT inspection. Foil over a bulb is a MOT rejection point. Thus, the foil may need to be removed. With our film, this is almost never the case, because our film has more gloss, and is completely transparent. Only color has been added to the film. With the naked eye, it is almost invisible that there is film on the lamps. Most MOT inspectors will therefore turn a blind eye to this, especially if it is a light shade. Through this link you can find more information.

The difference between tinted and untinted lamps is almost not visible, as shown in the pictures above. The film has a light transmittance of about 90%. So you don’t have to worry about being less visible in the dark, the film has little effect on that.

The film we use is UV-resistant. As a result, the inside and outside of your lamp will not be discolored or damaged by the radiation. The film also protects against light stone chips and scratches, and repairs itself from these damages. The film provides an extra layer of protection, making the lamps last longer.

Our film can remain in perfect condition for a very long time, also because it is self-healing. Therefore, we also provide a 10-year warranty on the installation. Of course, it must be properly maintained. You can extend the life of the lamps by gently washing them by hand, and removing dirt such as bird droppings from the film as soon as possible.

In addition to lamp shades, we also specialize in window shading and stone chip film.
